With over 30 years in education, Liisa is an Ontario Certified Teacher, Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist , and Orton-Gillingham Accredited Training Fellow who helps students, educators, and families overcome literacy challenges. Her extensive professional development reflects a deep commitment to understanding how language works-and how to teach it clearly and effectively. A seasoned presenter and workshop leader, Liisa provides customized training, coaching, consultation, and tutoring and develops high-quality resources that demystify English orthography and strengthen instructional practice. Drawing on her classroom experience and personal journey as a parent of children with learning challenges, Liisa has dedicated her career to advancing inclusive evidence-informed literacy instruction. She is a long-time member of the International Dyslexia Association, a former two-term President of its Ontario Branch, and currently serves on the IDA Fact Sheet Editorial Board.
